CUPW is trying to help!
CUPW negotiated a $2.5 million child care fund to be used to improve access to quality affordable child care for CUPW members. Some of that money is being used to fund child care projects in locals across the country to help members get the kind of child care they need.
The Lower Mainland of British Columbia (Fraser Valley West, Royal City and Vancouver locals) has been identified as a possible location for an innovative project aimed at supporting members’ child care needs.
Do you have children under the age of 12? Do you use or need child care? If so, we want to hear from you!
We want to find out what you need and to let you know what the union can do to help you find affordable, quality child care.
The CUPW will be conducting a survey of members in these three locals. We want to better understand what your child care needs are and how best to meet them. If there is sufficient interest, CUPW will work with West Coast Child Care Resource Centre to set up a child care project in the Lower Mainland of BC to help meet your needs.
If you have children under the age of 12, please take a few minutes to fill-out the survey form. Your input is essential for this project to be a success.
The survey will be offered as an online survey and also as a hard copy paper survey. Please talk to your local executive to find out more about this.
