A notice of motion was presented at the May 24th, 2015, General Membership Meeting. The motion seeks to change the language of Article 10.1 B of the local bylaws and change the times and/or dates of the General Membership Meetings.
Current wording of the local bylaws:10.1 B Whenever possible, General Membership Meetings shall be held alternately on the fourth (4th) Thursday at 7:00 p.m., and on the fourth (4th) Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
The motion seeks to change 10.1 B to reflect:
Motion to have several meetings in one month (or day) to accommodate us all.
As it seeks to amend the local bylaws, it is to be posted on the union bulletin boards for members’ information, in accordance with section 10.01 G (1) of the Local Bylaws. The motion will be debated and voted on at the June 25th, 2015, General Membership Meeting.
Motions to amend the local bylaws require approval by a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting at the meeting. Such motions must not conflict with the National Constitution of the Union.
