INTERMEDIATE SHOP STEWARD COURSE
for Groups 1, 3 and 4
January 31, February 01 & 02, 2013

8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

at 4530 Dawson St., Burnaby, BC
By Skytrain: 1.5 blocks south of Brentwood Skytrain
down the stairs off Willingdon Ave.

By Car: turn right down the ramp (after the shop fronts) on Dawson St. to the back of the building.

Application Deadline: Monday, January 07, 2014 at 12:00 p.m.

This course will focus primarily on issues of importance to Groups 1, 3, & 4. It is designed to sharpen your skills as a shop steward, reinforce and build your confidence when confronting management and provide the tools necessary to represent your fellow workers. Please note: there is another bulletin for the Group 2 course.

Includes: rights of the Shop Steward, basic Collective Agreement knowledge, grievance and accident investigation specific to Groups1,3, and 4, how to conduct an interview, changes to the Collective Agreement, confronting management, and a chance to share experiences with one another.

Eligibility: anyone can apply; preference will be given to those who have not taken the course before and those who are Shop Stewards in Groups 1,3, &4.
