NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE

Under Article 4.07 of our National Constitution, I am hereby issuing call for interested members who would like to be considered by the National Executive Board to sit on the National Human Rights Committee. The role of this committee is outlined in Articles 4.07 to 4.10. The committee meets once a year, generally in Ottawa, for 3 days per meeting. Lost wages and expenses are paid by the National union.

 

This Committee is comprised of four working groups:

  1. Aboriginal People
  2. Workers of Colour
  3. Lesbians gays bisexual and transgender people
  4. Disabled Workers

The Pacific Region is entitled to have one representative for each group.

Please forward written applications including your background and the reasons why you would like to participate on this committee. All applications will be treated with confidentiality. Applications must be received by December 14, 2011 in order to be considered by the Regional Executive Committee.
