Vancouver Local Strike Votes

UPDATE August 20, 2018

NATIONAL PRESIDENT, BROTHER MIKE PALECEK WILL BE AT THE STRIKE VOTE MEETINGS ON AUGUST 23 & 25.

Strike Vote times

As you may already be aware CUPW filed for conciliation on June 29, 2018. The conciliation process starts the countdown to a potential lockout/strike should the parties not come to an agreement.

Any collective action taken by the Union to achieve a collective agreement requires a mandate from the membership (not wearing uniforms, withholding extended hours and overtime or going on strike).

Our Negotiators have been and remain willing to meet with the employer in order to achieve a collective agreement.

All CUPW members are eligible to participate in the Strike Vote. Let’s send a clear message to the employer that we want a negotiated collective agreement.

The voting will be preceded by an information meeting. Attendance at the meeting is mandatory. The doors will be tiled (locked) 15 minutes from start times posted. Please plan to spend a minimum of one (1) hour at the meeting, with voting to take place following the meeting. Below are the list of meeting times:
