On November 27th, unfortunately, we did not reach quorum at our General Membership Meeting. This did not allow us to conduct the business of the Local.
There was a Notice of Motion that was going to be presented at that meeting. We would like to be able to debate and vote on this Notice of Motion at the January General Membership Meeting. In order to do that they need to be presented to the membership first.
10.1 G (1) Notices of Motion must be presented and duly recorded at a General Membership Meeting and discussed and debated at the subsequent General Membership Meeting(s), or at a Special Meeting(s), provided a minimum of ten (10) days’ notice of the Special Meeting(s) is given.
10.2 A (1) of the By Laws allows for Special Meeting to be called on the initiative of the President. Whenever possible, bulletins shall be posted ten (10) days prior to a Special Meeting.
The reading of these Notices of Motion will be the sole item on the agenda so the meeting will be focused and should be relatively short in length.
