Message from CUPW Vancouver 3rd VP

Sisters, Brothers, & Friends

As we struggle during these extraordinary times with the COVID-19 pandemic, I would like to thank each one of you for standing together and supporting each other during these trying times. This hasn’t been easy, but, we will get through this together by continuing to take the necessary precautions to ensure that everyone is safe, while continuing to support one another in new and creative ways.

Your shift shop stewards and PPC LJOSH are working hard to make sure you are safe at work. As you know, this is a joint effort and with the help of volunteers we are making sure that rest pods are being sanitized regularly after each break, during each shift. I urge you all to follow the process of social distancing at all times during your shift. I know this can be challenging, and it will not only help others but also yourself and your loved ones.

Since the beginning of this Pandemic and we being front line workers, we are seen as essential in ensuring Canadians get the assistance they need. I urge you all to take some time to look after your wellbeing during these trying times. Also, it is necessary to take care when leaving the house and when traveling to and from work. I would like to thank all of you for being there for each other.

Please make time to thank all the volunteers and your LJOSH Committee who are working hard to keep our workplace safe and sanitized for you all.

Lastly, don’t forget to follow the directions given by Health Canada to stay safe.
