Vancouver getting ready………

LOCAL 846
Today, your National Executive Board issued what is known as a “72-hour strike notice” to Canada Post for both the RSMC and Urban units. The National Executive Board has decided that the strike will begin on Monday morning, October 22, 2018, at 00:01 should we not have reached negotiated settlements.
The National Executive Board has opted for rotating strikes. Their locations and intensity will depend on Canada Post’s actions at the bargaining table in the days to come.
Unresolved Issues
After over 10 months of negotiations and despite our efforts to resolve key issues, the parties are still far apart on many of your demands.
The following are some of the key demands that have not been resolved:
Wage increases above the rate of inflation
Improvements to Group 1 Staffing
Job Security
Reduce overburdening for letter carriers
One-bundle delivery
RSMC Pay for all hours worked and minimum guaranteed hours
Elimination of 2013 wage charts
End obligation of RSMCs to find a replacement for their own absences
Improvements to the STDP
Protection of bargaining unit work
Post-retirement benefits for RSMCs
RSMCs to be paid directly by Canada Post when on work-related accidents
When and What Action May Occur
Details of the locations which will be on strike will be communicated to the locals with enough notice to prepare for the actions.
