NEWS RELEASE: CUPW Vancouver Local tells Canada Post to get back to the bargaining table

For Immediate Release June 26, 2012

“It has been one year since the Federal Government introduced unnecessary back to work legislation to end Canada Post’s lockout of CUPW members and nothing has changed” said Robert Mulvin, President of the Vancouver Local of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. “In Vancouver unwarranted discipline continues to be meted out, letter carriers continue to be injured, and people are worried about their pensions and post-retirement benefits” he continued.

“The only way to resolve this and to address the real issues facing postal workers is for Canada Post to head back to the bargaining table and work to resolve real issues facing CUPW members” stated Mulvin.

“To mark this day the CUPW Vancouver Local is launching an online video, with postal workers sharing their memories of the lockout,” Mulvin said.
