It’s finally over, after six (6) long years the VPDC suspension grievances have now been resolved.
Postal Transformation
Canada Post has embarked on an aggressive campaign to streamline its operations and cut jobs. They call it – “Postal Transformation”. It begs the question; what have they transformed? I think it is important to note, other than the automation of parcel and mail processing, the method in which the customer receives their product has remained unchanged. The employer’s agenda is clear, disregard health and safety, overburden the workers, and disrupt the Union’s ability to represent its members. In turn they maximize profits and pay out bonuses to management.
You may be eligible for a lump sum payment of either $200 or $400 if your position was moved to the Pacific Processing Centre. Article 29.11 (f) of the Collective Agreement provides the following:

On Saturday, September 20, 2014, Postal workers, friends and allies will be gathering at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody for a BBQ Picnic.
There will be food, speakers, live music, activities for children, games and lots of fun!
BBQ Picnic starts at 3:30pm, Speakers and Live Music from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.
This event will be great fun for people of all ages and a fabulous opportunity for postal workers from Fraser Valley West, Royal City and Vancouver to get together!
