Vancouver Trans March and Dyke March

Hello members!

Your Vancouver 846 Organizing Committee wanted to let you know what is happening during the upcoming long weekend for Vancouver pride events. We are once again planning a presence at two very important events: The Trans March and the Dyke March. We do plan to have a union presence at both marches, and if you would like to march alongside your union just look out for the union pride flags.

Unlike Vancouver Pride, these are meant to be protests against the discrimination we still face. While they are still enjoyable events and we encourage everybody to attend, please keep in mind there is a different tone in the proceedings. We do not have any planned presence at the official Vancouver Pride events, however we still encourage members to go out and enjoy the parade and festivities.

Trans March:

On Friday July 31st will be the annual Trans March. At time of publishing for this bulletin, full details have not yet been released by their organizers. Please check linktr.ee/vancouvertransmarch for full details. HOWEVER, the march always runs along Commercial Drive, starting around 5pm from either Clark Park or Trout Lake near the community center.

If you are interested at all in volunteering, they are still looking for volunteers. Please visit the above link or use this QR code for the volunteer form.

Dyke March & Festival:

On Saturday August 1st, the Dyke March will meet at 11am at McSpadden Park, then march up Commercial Drive to Grandview Park. There, the Dyke March Festival will be on until 5pm. We encourage everybody to come and visit the amazing vendors and performances.
