Postal Workers have Pride!

Postal Workers have Pride!

The Vancouver Local Human Rights Committee would like to extend a warm invitation to all CUPW members of the LGBT community, straight allies, families & friends to join us at the Vancouver Pride Parade on August 2, 2009.

Everyone welcome!

Show your Pride!  Celebrate our diversity proudly & openly!

Be a part of the largest Pride event in Western Canada.  Last year over 500,000 people attended the Parade!  The Pride Parade is a family event starting with the parade at noon & culminating in a day long celebration with music, entertainment, food vendors, community groups & more at the Sunset Beach Festival site.

If you would like to march in the Parade with us – join us at the Multi Union Pride marshalling site. Click on the map image to view the exact location. The Multi Union Pride marshalling site will be at “FN4”. That translates into section “F” on Robson between Thurlow and Burrard, on the North side of the street, 4 positions back from Thurlow. This is the last section of the parade so marchers do not have to be in position until 12:30. (at the latest)

It will be easier to bike or use transit as it will be busy in the immediate vicinity.

We will be marching with the CUPW banner & flags & dress up or come as you are – EVERYONE WELCOME!!!  The more, the merrier – let’s show that Postal Workers have Pride!!

In Solidarity,

Janet Askin
on behalf of the Human Rights Committee

The theme for Pride is: Educate, Liberate & Celebrate.
